StormGeo operates seven weather centers that provide regional forecast expertise around the globe to allow for the best in both global forecasting models as well as regional in-house models.
Our forecasting allows you to find the correct weather window to save time and costs from the planning stage of your project to full-cycle project operations. We also help you assess whether your project timelines are realistic.
Our high-quality global forecasts have a uniform standard of delivery for offshore operations. The forecasts are delivered through highly intuitive products, making technical data easy to understand and empowering you to manage your weather risk with confidence at every level.
I particularly like the lightning monitoring function and the daily TropicsWatch video summary. It’s been a huge asset to receive detailed, long lead time reports on all developments coming our way from the Caribbean.Sam-Anderson Hall

StormGeo provides Vattenfall with daily weather forecasting support for our Dan Tysk and Sandbank offshore wind farms. Their service plays an important role in supporting our offshore transport and installation works, and we are very happy with the forecasts and the daily service that we get from StormGeo.Marc Itgen

Advanced solutions to improve your performance.
StormGeo’s Offshore Weather Forecasting provides advanced, flexible and continuous decision support to offshore operations anywhere in the world. We have supported thousands of offshore projects in locations worldwide, accompanied by millions of point forecasts.
All our weather forecasting solutions use the finest global meteorological models, which we enhance with regional, in-house, high-resolution models. An international team of meteorologists and researchers validate all forecasts. Our experts are always available worldwide to answer all your questions.
On the overview page, you will have access to a map with your forecast locations, overlaid on forecast charts that can be animated up to 10 days in advance. Several different weather parameters and combinations of parameters are available. Satellite and radar imagery can also be presented.
High-resolution forecasts and hindcasts are able to resolve local winds and turbulence important for wind power planning and operations.
Plan and review the weather windows for all your operations in one view to immediately gauge when you will have working weather. Fields in the asset overview display more details in the form of the table forecast that can be seen in the product image. The asset overview is configured individually for each client and project.
You will also have access to forecasts seven days ahead of all relevant weather and wave parameters in tabular and graphical formats. The forecasts are based on the meteorologist’s corrections of weather and ocean model forecasts and are updated several times daily.
Forecasts for the following weather and ocean parameters are available in PDF.
Forecasting a movement of a vessel requires the following:
StormGeo uses ECMWF wave models as the basis of our wave forecast. Using forecasts from 2D wavespectra, wind (strength, direction), ocean current (strength, direction) fed into a vessel response model - Response Forecasting the basis for spectral wave forecasting.
Interactive probabilistic forecast of weather windows based on your operational criteria. The forecasts are valid 15 days ahead and are updated daily. They are presented graphically in a box-plot format that allows you to see the uncertainty of each part of the forecast.
StormGeo's meteorologists are always available—via telephone, email or even on-site by assignment. For on-site assignments, a StormGeo forecaster with the required offshore certificates will follow your operations over an extended period of time. By working on board your vessel or installation, they can provide expert, immediate decision support on operational windows to increase efficiency wherever necessary.
Combined state-of-the-art technologies from meteorology and hydrodynamics to forecast these motions and provide decision support.
Interactive tropical storms and hurricane monitoring, tracking and impact analysis.
Minimize weather risks and delays through accurate and efficient decision support.
Lighting warning service for Offshore Wind allows you to track lightning systems in real time.
The complete decision support tool to successfully manage aviation logistics for offshore operations.
