Søren was appointed StormGeo CEO in 2019. He has more than 20 years of international leadership experience from his time at A.P. Møller, Maersk, APL and Rickmers. With a background in shipping, he has a deep understanding of the challenges and opportunities facing traditional industries as well as how these can be solved via digitalization and the use of modern technology. Søren is highly committed to leading StormGeo in our work to deliver the most innovative and best-in-class decision support solutions and services for weather-sensitive operations in a sustainable manner.

Responsible for delivering StormGeo’s strong financial performance, Bjarte joined StormGeo in 2011 as CFO. He has more than 20 years of international financial management experience, including CFO for both Wema System and J Martens and a senior finance position at Vizrt. Bjarte holds a Master’s degree in Finance and Business administration from NHH, Bergen.

Holds a strong technology and analytic background with a focus on how weather and data science influences people and complex decisions. An expert in understanding how weather influences complex operations and how advanced services can help to safeguard critical operations.

Mette Krohn-Hansen

Chief People Officer

Heads StormGeo's human resources team. Mette has been a part of the StormGeo team for over 20 years, serving as Managing Director, then HR Director prior to her current position. Before StormGeo, Mette served in several positions at Shell Oil Company, Investa AS and TV2 AS. She has been a board member in Bergen Chamber of Commerce, Bergens Tidende and Nansen Center. Mette Holds a Masters Degree in Finance and Business Administration from BI, Oslo.

Chief Operating Officer, Weather Insights

As Chief Operations Officer for Weather Insights, Jostein oversees products, operations, sales and customer service for Renewables, Oil & Gas, Cross Industry and Media lines of business. With a solid background in renewable energy, wind energy, sales management and meteorology, Jostein joined StormGeo in 2007and holds a Master’s degree in meteorology from The University in Bergen.

Heads StormGeo's shipping operations. Kim brings to StormGeo decades of leadership in the shipping industry, having served as CEO of Nordics Nagel-Group, Blue Water Shipping, and TransAtlantic Industrial Shipping, and comes with 17 years experience under A.P Møller-Mærsk Group.

Heads StormGeo's marketing team. Cynthia has a strong history of marketing leadership, leading multiple firms and founding an Inc. 500 Silicon Valley PR agency. In 2014 Cynthia joined StormGeo to build an international marketing team.

Carsten Mortensen

Chairman of the Board

Carsten Mortensen brings more than 30 years of operational experience, having held leadership positions at global Nordic companies, such as A.P. Møller-Mærsk, D/S Norden and most recently as CEO of BW Group.

Carsten has been a strong advocate for the adoption of digital services and sustainable business practices through his Chairmanships of the Danish Shipowners Association and “Vækstteam”, an initiative to fuel growth in the maritime industry supported by the Danish Government.

Having received his graduate degree in International Business from the Copenhagen Business School, Carsten completed an INSEAD executive training programme and the Advanced Management Program from the Wharton Business School in the USA. Early in his career he attended the Maersk Shipping Academy.

Rikke Kjær Nielsen


Rikke Kjaer Nielsen, a Partner based in Copenhagen, is the Head of EQT Mid Market Denmark and voting member of EQT Mid Market Europe Investment Committee. She currently sits on the Board of StormGeo, TIA Technology and Fertin Pharma.

Rikke joined EQT Partners from Royal Bank of Scotland, M&A (previously Alfred Berg ABN AMRO) in 2010, where she mainly focused on corporate transactions within TMT and Healthcare related projects.

Rikke holds a B.Sc. and a M.Sc. in Business Administration from Copenhagen Business School with exchange studies at Plekhanov Russian Academy of Economics in Moscow.

Henrik Dahl


Henrik Dahl’s background is as an entrepreneur, having founded several start-ups, including ENiram, which was sold to Wärtsilä in 2016. After working with Wärtsilä on their digital transformation, Dahl left in fall 2018 to travel the world with his family. He returned in spring 2019 and joined the StormGeo board in March. Dahl says his career has focused on working with investors, building global sales, and managing software & analytics teams while prioritizing culture and people, as these are the key assets of a successful company.

Carl Martin Borcher


Carl Martin Borcher joined EQT Partners in May 2012 as part of the Mid Market team in the Nordics.

Prior to joining EQT Partners, Carl Martin helped establish Moelis & Company in Europe as one of the very first employees in the London office. Before that he worked in the M&A Group at UBS Investment Bank in London and in the Financial Sponsors and Leverage Finance Group at UBS Investment Bank in New York.

Carl Martin holds a Bachelor of Science in Economics and Business Administration from Copenhagen Business School. Further to this he completed parts of his study at The Wharton School, University of Pennsylvania.

Thomas Vogth-Eriksen


Thomas Vogth-Eriksen is Chief Financial Officer in DNV GL Group and member of the DNV GL Executive Committee. Vogth-Eriksen has broad international experience from management positions within the DNV GL Group, most recently as CEO for DNV Business Assurance in Italy and Regional Manager in China.

Trond Hodne


Trond Hodne is Senior Vice President and the Business Director Maritime in DNV GL reporting to the CEO Maritime. Hodne has extensive experience whose main focus is in the maritime market. He has 10 years of experience in the present role, 10 years of experience from various positions in Japan and Korea and the remaining as a maritime consultant. Hodne holds a M.Sc. in Naval Architecture - Marine Structures and Hydrodynamics – from Texas A&M University.
Nina Winther-Kaland Nina Winther-Kaland

Nina Winther-Kaland


Nina Winther-Kaland joined StormGeo in 2007. Nina holds a PhD degree in Physical Oceanography. She is specialized in numerical modeling of ocean currents and waves, and has expertise in all aspects of operational oceanography. Her operational role in StormGeo is Research Manager and she has previously been working as Senior Scientist in StormGeo.
