About the Role 

We are looking for an experienced and creative Industry Manager (IM) to join our team. The IM’s primary focus will be the generation of new leads and opportunities within assigned industries to sell StormGeo’s established service offerings. In addition, the IM will take responsibility for cold-calling, targeted outreach and for coordinating sales campaigns for the assigned industry vertical(s) with our marketing team. The IM will study and quickly gain a strong understanding of StormGeo’s meteorological services, product technologies, and our strategic intent. As a team member, the IM will cooperate with the Senior Industry Managers for handling of top-tier large strategic accounts. 

The IM will be a driving force to expand our market share of existing industry verticals for incremental significant growth and profitability. StormGeo serves many industries such as Health Care, Telecom, Banking, Hospitality, Manufacturing, Construction, Utilities, Oil&Gas, Aviation, and others. 

StormGeo is looking for an impactful and energetic sales-oriented individual who has a great track record as a technical sales professional. Meteorological experience is a big plus, but not required.  

Main Responsibilities 

  • Drive prospect and industry research, supporting marketing material development 
  • Manage lead-generation activities, including tele-marketing, prospect calling, and follow-up 
  • Develop value propositions and coordinate product demonstrations 
  • Handle proposal preparation and contract negotiation, obtaining necessary authorizing documents 
  • Maintain Salesforce updates and support industry segment research and client engagement 
  • Foster relationships with internal stakeholders and ensure client retention and fee uplift 
  • Understand StormGeo offerings and provide insights on strategic impact, competitive actions, and market trends 

Core Requirements 

  • Education: Bachelor’s degree required; preferred technical sales background. Big plus if you have experience in meteorology or atmospheric sciences.  
  • Work Experience: 3 to 6 years of sales/business development experience, with proven sales affinity / record. 
  • Experienced in large volume tele-marketing and sales techniques. 
  • Need to have a flexible can-do attitude, be comfortable with ambiguity and very strong communication and cross-group collaboration skills. 
  • Interpersonal skills: Excellent written and verbal communication skills. Must be able to present themselves in a professional manner. Must be a team player. 
  • Organizational skills: Must demonstrate ability to have high attention to detail and be able to manage multiple sales opportunities in parallel. 
  • Direction received: Self-motivated and able to function successfully with minimal supervision. 
  • Mental effort: Frequent demand to establish priorities and meet goals and deadlines. 
  • Travel may be required throughout U.S. and Canada.
