About the Role

This position serves as the entry-level role within the Route Analyst series. Employees in this role are expected to perform a full range of entry-level duties while also undergoing training for advancement to the next level. Reporting to either the Team/Assistant Manager or Supervisor, the Introductory Route Analyst – Level 1 is responsible for finding and communicating the optimal shipping route to ensure the safety of the vessel, cargo, and crew.

Main Responsibilities

  • Manage Route Analyst messages, ensuring timely responses to urgent inquiries while handling regular incoming messages
  • Utilize expertise to select and communicate optimal shipping routes across all ocean basins, contributing to the safety and efficiency of maritime operations
  • Provide proficient communication support in the Indian Ocean and other regions, facilitating smooth navigation and coordination
  • Draft clear and professional client messages, liaising with the Coordinator for review and approval
  • Apply critical thinking and advanced judgment to navigate complex situations and make informed decisions
  • Demonstrate flexibility by adapting to rotating shifts, including nights and weekends, to ensure continuous support for maritime operations

Core Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree in Atmospheric Science/Meteorology, Physical Science, or equivalent, or demonstrated high performance at FIT or Associate RA level
  • Strong attention to detail and accuracy in data entry
  • Proactive problem-solving skills
  • Ability to learn quickly and adapt to new tasks
  • Effective time management and ability to prioritize tasks
  • Comfortable working in a dynamic environment with changing priorities
  • Strong communication skills and ability to work collaboratively in a team
  • Basic proficiency in typing, analysis, and computer skills
