About 3rd Voyage Efficiency for CII Compliance

2023 will be a busy year for the Shipping industry with regard to meeting the regulations on the reduction of GHG emissions. On the operational level, the CII has just come into force. The level of ratings in 2023 is 5% lower than the 2019 baseline and the reduction will be continuing until 2026 when the rating level is 11% lower. The planning and targeting of the CII rating are all to be described in the new Part III of the SEEMP. The yearly verification of the CII (by Class) will be documented in the SEEMP and any corrections to targets and plans due to the attained CII will be included as well. Owners/operators that have control over their vessels' performance will benefit from the optimization of the emissions reduction and will have systems that will provide full transparency in all aspects of the vessels' operations. The transparency will be to the benefit of all the stakeholders of the operations including the crew, owners/operators, charterers, and authorities.
